Subject/verb disagreement again!

Here is a sentence that appeared in one of the many articles this week about efforts to help those affected by tornadoes in Alabama:

Final numbers won't be known until the information from all the applications have been keyed into the state's food stamp computer system.

Whoops! INFORMATION is a collective noun that should be used with a singular verb (HAS).  (APPLICATIONS is  not the subject for this verb.)  If the sentence had used the word DATA, the verb could have been HAVE if the reference was scientific or HAS if the reference was for general reading.

The sentence should read this way:

Final numbers won't be known until the information from all the applications has been keyed into the state's food stamp computer system .
